about Jemima

“I’m completely seduced by the textiles of the Bauhaus, the simplicity of the Shakers, precious objects found on beaches… and anything orange…”

Having been a prolific contributor to craft & lifestyle magazines, I am a consummate maker and am currently working on my 9th craft book. My career began with a BA (Hons)at Bath in Visual Communication, subsequently working in the design industry in London for 9 years as a graphic designer in retail, interiors, TV and fashion.

I spent many childhood Easters in the Scilly Isles & summers with my American mother’s family in Long Island & Martha’s Vineyard, also travelling widely in Europe – I speak French (not too bad!) and Italian (ropey, to say the least!).

I live in Brighton, on the south coast of England, juggling  working with profoundly deaf teenagers with stolen time when I make, knit, stitch, write… in my attic studio, or in my little beach hut when the weather permits.
